Here are 5 really great tips that will help you tone up your body faster. There are many things that we can do for our muscles and really help them get their beautiful shape, but all you need to know are these 5 facts and you’ll be well on your way to a toned sexy body. Let’s start right away!
1. More weights, less reps.
I have to say that it’s great that you’re lifting weight in the first place! Now, you have to do it right so that you succeed. Failing to vary the weight will lead to poor results, for sure. Most of us don’t put enough emphasis on actually progressing.
As time goes by, our muscles need more and more, and we have to give them heavier weights, even if that means to lower the reps. You should definitely force yourself when it comes to the weight you’re lifting, so cut the reps 8-10, but still let it be challenging.
2. Change it up.
The need of change in the exercises is actually needed for many other reasons too. Your body adapts fast to the exercises you’re already doing, so you should definitely make changes in order to challenge your muscles with more and more.
You should never go more than two weeks without making a change into the exercises you do. This means that you should find a variety of different exercises and stick to them, but always be in a search for more.
3. Fuel Your Body Right
In order to function right and to go all in, you have to fuel your body right. That means not only before workout, but after workout too. Lower the carbohydrates, and fuel your body with proteins and greens. In order to fuel right you should really increase the protein intake, because in order to make your muscles recover right, you should fuel them with the right things.
Carbohydrates are okay if you think about energy before your workout, but for your after workout meal, you should definitely make a protein based meal.
4. Drop Sets & Super Sets
I’ve never talked about these two, but both of them actually work really great in toning your muscles. They can be done in almost every workout that includes lifting weights. These two techniques can give you better results in less time, you just need to push yourself to the limit.
Drop sets are essentially a technique where you perform an exercise and then drop the weight, for about 30% and continue for more reps until you reach failure.
Super sets are essentially two exercises performed back to back that target opposing muscle groups, namely one agonist and one antagonist muscle group. Examples of such muscles are the biceps and triceps, hamstrings and quads, and chest and back.
5. Don’t Forget The Cardio
You may think that cardio is for weight loss only but that’s a tricky one for sure. Yes cardio is required for losing body fat, but it helps toning muscles too, because the cardiovascular activity is the one that actually pops your muscles out.
After a session of weight lifting, do another 20-30 minutes session of cardio. And remember, never before the strength training because cardio should always come last. As my trainer had always told me “Clean your muscles! Do some cardio, make that fat cry!” So, yes make that fat cry a bit and your muscles will pop out faster.
